It's actually only the dream sequence there that's included in a three day long memory. It begins after Memory 39 and it ends before he woke up in Gift of the Night Fury with his dad pounding on the roof. Just three days of Hiccup slowly and steadily getting more and more anxious, wondering when Toothless will come back. He's doing his daily things, Astrid tries to make new Snoggletog traditions (which includes Missing Toe, where in an old toe is hung up from somewhere and if you're caught under it with someone, they punch you.) It's the first time Hiccup's really be separated from Toothless of Toothless' own volition, so he's afraid that Toothless really won't come back. ): That dream pretty much happens everytime he sleeps.

Meaning
It's just the first time Hiccup REALLY DOUBTS TOOTHLESS AND HIS RELATIONSHIP. It hurts a lot and he's afraid Toothless will never come back which is horrible because Toothless was the only one he was really one hundred percent open with?
RIDER knows it works out. He knows Toothless comes back. Rider is VERY UNSURE on why Toothless no longer has his new tail after this point because Snoggletog is early on and this memory does noooot really reassure him as to the reasons why it's gone is a good thing. WHAT IF HE TOOK AWAY THE TAIL BECAUSE HE DIDN'T WANT TO RISK TOOTHLESS RUNNING AWAY?! D=
W-which would be horrible if it was true.
Mostly it's negative because of all the feelings. He's doubting TOOTHLESS. Of everyone he could doubt, Toothless is the one he does the least so it kind of fucks with him when he does.
Kind of makes him feel incredibly lonely and useless because he's super co-dependent on Toothless. ):

Dragons are super weak to scratching a certain spot! Not just Gronckles.

Meaning
Personally I place this short later on because Hiccup is a lot more comfortable telling the kids to do something so earliest this could be is between season one and two. But overall I'm just making it an overall LATER until we get something to place it more firmly on the timeline.
But yeah! Hiccup is relatively comfortable with the kids and doing things without Toothless. It's actually pretty nice and reassuring!
Also just a lot of Gobber dere? Well, sympathizing with Gobber and just feeling more connected with him and just wanting to be there for him. Gobber helped him a lot and he wants to repay the favor! Even if it's just humoring his maybe delusions, except they weren't.
He was pretty worried for a while, but it all turned out all right and it was a nice, successful adventure? So it helps him feel a bit more content overall?
Mundane Skill: Combat training. (Form: Knotted piece of twine. Untie, cut, or gnaw it.)
So Hiccup was actually trained in combat! So he knows in theory what he is supposed to do and such. He's just not...good at the offense.
HOWEVER, as Riders and Defenders of Berk like showing, Hiccup does have some physical ability and can use it in combat. His offense really does still suck, but he is very fast and he can actually do a bit of using someone's own power against them.
So what this means is Rider's ability to dodge and weave have gone up! He's got a fast reaction time and he's not as flaily as he has been. He still wastes some movement, but he's not the scrambling mess all over he has been. Also better at dodging, but staying close enough to redirect a person's own movement to trip them up. His strength has also gone up! He can canonically take a stronger fighter's sword strike against a shield without buckling under the force, so there's that. He also has the basics of at least how to hold various weapons. He's not....good at them, but he at least isn't going to fumble the hold.
His offense still sucks because offense is haaaaard.

FUCK MY LIFE
I was SUCH A LIAR for so many memories, why did I have to not be lying about hitting the damn Night Fury?!
Basically when Rider takes this memory, he's going to know it's legit. There have been SO MANY HINTS in other memories that he deliberately blinded himself too because Rider did not want to acknowledge what they pointed to. Why he knew about Toothless, those bola ropes, why Toothless was downed, and NOW HE REALIZES THE GUILT HE FELT IN THE GIFT OF THE NIGHT FURY THING.
And with how Toothless was flying, and with Rider having all the memories from then until he discovers Toothless is injured, he will know he really was the one who did it.
He injured Toothless. He's why Toothless can't fly on his own. It is going to hit HARD. Not a full out BSOD like the disownment memory, but he's going to be pretty depressed for a while. Toothless is his best friend, and the fact he injured him, that he took the sky from the one person he cares for more than anyone else. Will hurt. He couldn't stand how hurt Toothless was when he had been trying to kill him. Which is why he couldn't. Hiccup can't kill in cold blood. He can't ignore the person he might be trying to kill. Gonna be all sorts of looking them in the eye because he can't just...shut them out.
Overall reaction besides another bout of not as severe depression will depend on who he takes the memory with and the ensuing reactions.

There is not a whoooole lot of meaning here that didn't come from the memory before this. Mostly it's helping building his confidence again after the painting incident. He's the one figuring out the poems, so his intelligence is helping! His own ability is how they are progressing!
To a lesser extent, it's also the fact his friends are LISTENING to him. They still respect his thoughts. Also working with them, with their own ideas helping. It's just really nice.

Meaning
A MILLION AND ONE MOM FEELINGS AND BONDING WITH DAD.
There is a sense of bitersweetness since his mother is dead. Or so he believes. He now knows he lost her while he was young and he was starting to forget her. He can't remember her clearly, but now he has something to help him remember. There is A LOT of feelings in having this, to have something SHE made for him. Something he had rejected because of his fear.
Which is interesting, but not too surprising. (He probably should have been MORE afraid when he first arrived, but such is the way of having more canon after entering an amnesia game.) He actually finds it pretty interesting his mother gave him a dragon doll and it was a surprise he was afraid? What, did she expect him to fight it? SURELY THAT IS WHY AND NO OTHER REASON. (Knowing what I do know, Stoick's words here are EXTREMELY INTERESTING and may be very revealing. Though that might involve spoilers.)
But he has something from his mother. Representing something he loves from family he lost and it's reassuring. It's a bit of closure in a way. It'll help him remember and deal with the times he finds himself missing her.
Also, Smothering Smokebreaths are kind of cool, okay.

Ooooooh, so that's how that all happened.
He already knows he planned to run away and he sees his PLANNING it. He couldn't kill the dragon, he knew. He couldn't not kill the dragon without outing himself. So he chose to run because better to be a coward than a traitor and thus why he goes after Astrid. Because he'd rather she didn't tell everyone he was a traitor.

Oh, so THAT'S the whole deal with Trader Johann, okay.
Mostly there is A LOT OF DERE and a LOT OF SIGH. A lot of sigh with all his friends tagging along. He is still very UNSURE at them tagging along, especially for something personal. It's dragon training! Which can also apply to most any sort of animal, especially large predators. He's good at reading animal body language and appearing nonthreatening yet not prey and picking up things they might respond well too. Really nothing too complicated.
What is ALSO included in this skill is his dragon knowledge. Since part of the training was knowing their weaknesses and strengths and such. HE COULD BASICALLY WRITE HIS OWN BOOK OF DRAGONS HERE NOW. Might go bother Obsidian to see what stayed constant and what didn't because FASCINATING STUFF.

Meaning
RIDER MAY ACTUALLY START INTRODUCING HIMSELF AS HICCUP AND RIDER AGAIN. He's been feeling the disconnect from Hiccup for a while now, mostly because he doesn't feel as confident about the person he has, but then this happened and it's REALLY reassuring. Because even if he's different and doesn't quite fit in, sometimes that's IMPORTANT. It's not just intelligent, it's also about looking at the world a different way. And it's nice to know there was someone else in his family like him.
Even if they probably got killed by their successor.
And this whole affair really is a whole Hiccup's self worth, his worth to his father. He's got serious father issues, so it all kind of ties together. But in reading the message on the portrait, Hiccup realized what this was. It wasn't about proving himself to his father, not really. It was about proving to HIMSELF that he could still do something different that others couldn't do. That the dragon thing was not a fluke.
He is a change, and he can still keep doing it.
It helps makes his confidence more real.
Though it's still REALLY NICE to know his dad never truly meant to make him feel that way. He's just kind of a bumbler sometimes with the feelings. '^'
It's actually only the dream sequence there that's included in a three day long memory. It begins after Memory 39 and it ends before he woke up in Gift of the Night Fury with his dad pounding on the roof. Just three days of Hiccup slowly and steadily getting more and more anxious, wondering when Toothless will come back. He's doing his daily things, Astrid tries to make new Snoggletog traditions (which includes Missing Toe, where in an old toe is hung up from somewhere and if you're caught under it with someone, they punch you.) It's the first time Hiccup's really be separated from Toothless of Toothless' own volition, so he's afraid that Toothless really won't come back. ): That dream pretty much happens everytime he sleeps.

Rider is VERY UNSURE on why Toothless no longer has his new tail after this point because Snoggletog is early on and this memory does noooot really reassure him as to the reasons why it's gone is a good thing. Personally I place this short later on because Hiccup is a lot more comfortable telling the kids to do something so earliest this could be is between season one and two. But overall I'm just making it an overall LATER until we get something to place it more firmly on the timeline.
But yeah! Hiccup is relatively comfortable with the kids and doing things without Toothless. It's actually pretty nice and reassuring!
Also just a lot of Gobber dere? Well, sympathizing with Gobber and just feeling more connected with him and just wanting to be there for him. Gobber helped him a lot and he wants to repay the favor! Even if it's just humoring his maybe delusions, except they weren't.
He was pretty worried for a while, but it all turned out all right and it was a nice, successful adventure? So it helps him feel a bit more content overall?

So Hiccup was actually trained in combat! So he knows in theory what he is supposed to do and such. He's just not...good at the offense.
HOWEVER, as Riders and Defenders of Berk like showing, Hiccup does have some physical ability and can use it in combat. His offense really does still suck, but he is very fast and he can actually do a bit of using someone's own power against them.
So what this means is Rider's ability to dodge and weave have gone up! He's got a fast reaction time and he's not as flaily as he has been. He still wastes some movement, but he's not the scrambling mess all over he has been. Also better at dodging, but staying close enough to redirect a person's own movement to trip them up. His strength has also gone up! He can canonically take a stronger fighter's sword strike against a shield without buckling under the force, so there's that. He also has the basics of at least how to hold various weapons. He's not....good at them, but he at least isn't going to fumble the hold.
His offense still sucks because offense is haaaaard.

I was SUCH A LIAR for so many memories, why did I have to not be lying about hitting the damn Night Fury?!
Basically when Rider takes this memory, he's going to know it's legit. There have been SO MANY HINTS in other memories that he deliberately blinded himself too because Rider did not want to acknowledge what they pointed to. Why he knew about Toothless, those bola ropes, why Toothless was downed, and NOW HE REALIZES THE GUILT HE FELT IN THE GIFT OF THE NIGHT FURY THING.
And with how Toothless was flying, and with Rider having all the memories from then until he discovers Toothless is injured, he will know he really was the one who did it.
He injured Toothless. He's why Toothless can't fly on his own. It is going to hit HARD. Not a full out BSOD like the disownment memory, but he's going to be pretty depressed for a while. Toothless is his best friend, and the fact he injured him, that he took the sky from the one person he cares for more than anyone else. Will hurt. He couldn't stand how hurt Toothless was when he had been trying to kill him. Which is why he couldn't. Hiccup can't kill in cold blood. He can't ignore the person he might be trying to kill. Gonna be all sorts of looking them in the eye because he can't just...shut them out.
Overall reaction besides another bout of not as severe depression will depend on who he takes the memory with and the ensuing reactions.

Meaning
A MILLION AND ONE MOM FEELINGS AND BONDING WITH DAD.
There is a sense of bitersweetness since his mother is dead. Or so he believes. He now knows he lost her while he was young and he was starting to forget her. He can't remember her clearly, but now he has something to help him remember. There is A LOT of feelings in having this, to have something SHE made for him. Something he had rejected because of his fear.
Which is interesting, but not too surprising. (He probably should have been MORE afraid when he first arrived, but such is the way of having more canon after entering an amnesia game.) He actually finds it pretty interesting his mother gave him a dragon doll and it was a surprise he was afraid? What, did she expect him to fight it? SURELY THAT IS WHY AND NO OTHER REASON. (Knowing what I do know, Stoick's words here are EXTREMELY INTERESTING and may be very revealing. Though that might involve spoilers.)
But he has something from his mother. Representing something he loves from family he lost and it's reassuring. It's a bit of closure in a way. It'll help him remember and deal with the times he finds himself missing her.
Also, Smothering Smokebreaths are kind of cool, okay.

Ooooooh, so that's how that all happened.
He already knows he planned to run away and he sees his PLANNING it. He couldn't kill the dragon, he knew. He couldn't not kill the dragon without outing himself. So he chose to run because better to be a coward than a traitor and thus why he goes after Astrid. Because he'd rather she didn't tell everyone he was a traitor.
Then everything goes to hell in a handbasket, FUNTIMES.

Oh, so THAT'S the whole deal with Trader Johann, okay.
Mostly there is A LOT OF DERE and a LOT OF SIGH. A lot of sigh with all his friends tagging along. He is still very UNSURE at them tagging along, especially for something personal. Astrid and even Snotlout was okay because Astrid is Astrid, and he just had a whole Thing with Snotlout. But the others is just...S-SIGH. Doubting he really wants them there because he still feels like he had to handle everything, but a little bit of dere that maybe they just want to help him, but MOSTLY SIGH at this point in the episode. With will actually mean more in a later memory.

Which just kind of ups his parents feels by a lot, in the end. Feeling more sentimental. But yeah, this was probably how I found out about the thing with the smoke dragons.

It's dragon training! Which can also apply to most any sort of animal, especially large predators. He's good at reading animal body language and appearing nonthreatening yet not prey and picking up things they might respond well too. Really nothing too complicated.
What is ALSO included in this skill is his dragon knowledge. Since part of the training was knowing their weaknesses and strengths and such. HE COULD BASICALLY WRITE HIS OWN BOOK OF DRAGONS HERE NOW. Might go bother Obsidian to see what stayed constant and what didn't because FASCINATING STUFF.
Heliodor's pets will now be EXTREMELY WELL TRAINED as well.

Meaning
RIDER MAY ACTUALLY START INTRODUCING HIMSELF AS HICCUP AND RIDER AGAIN. He's been feeling the disconnect from Hiccup for a while now, mostly because he doesn't feel as confident about the person he has, but then this happened and it's REALLY reassuring. Because even if he's different and doesn't quite fit in, sometimes that's IMPORTANT. It's not just intelligent, it's also about looking at the world a different way. And it's nice to know there was someone else in his family like him.
Even if they probably got killed by their successor.
And this whole affair really is a whole Hiccup's self worth, his worth to his father. He's got serious father issues, so it all kind of ties together. But in reading the message on the portrait, Hiccup realized what this was. It wasn't about proving himself to his father, not really. It was about proving to HIMSELF that he could still do something different that others couldn't do. That the dragon thing was not a fluke.
He is a change, and he can still keep doing it.
It helps makes his confidence more real.
Though it's still REALLY NICE to know his dad never truly meant to make him feel that way. He's just kind of a bumbler sometimes with the feelings. '^'
