Skill 2, Memory 4, 5, 6, 7
Jul. 29th, 2014 11:21 pmMundane Skill: Blacksmithing. (Chocolate truffle)
Another thing that is more or less what it says on the tin. Hiccup is a blacksmith! He's actually really good at it! He can make all the metal things. Weapons, shields, armor, metal carts, door handles. Whatever you'd find around a Viking village. This does also affects his building skills since, you know, some stuff requires assembly.
As a note, no, Rider isn't gonna start making all his weird stuff. He has his technical skills, but his inventing ability is in his innovation skill. He could make more advanced things if he was taught how, but he can't think of how to make new things on his own yet. Things like automail will still be kind of tricky to learn.
Negative-Trivial: Get to kill the dragon. ( Perfectly sculpted miniature sugar roses in your team colors- the detail is excruciating and they look real - each one no larger than your pinky nail.)
EXT. TRAINING GROUNDS - AFTERNOON
A Gronckle hovers above the ring, hunting victims as the teen recruits scramble. Astrid ducks behind a barrier to find Hiccup already there. She glares at him.
ASTRID
Stay out of my way! I'm winning this thing.
HICCUP
Please, by all means.
She darts off, CLOSING FAST on the dragon. The crowd above cheers her on.
VIKING IN CROWD
You got it Astrid!
Hiccup!
Hiccup stands and looks around. Amidst the crowd of onlookers, Stoick watches keenly, beaming with pride. He locks eyes with Hiccup, giving him a nod of encouragement. Hiccup adjusts his new helmet and forces a half-hearted smile. Unbeknownst to Hiccup, the Gronckle spots him and makes a bee-line toward him.
BACK TO ASTRID
... as she catches her breath behind a barrier. She scowls, focused, determined.
ASTRID
This time. This time for sure.
With a FIERCE BATTLE-CRY she LEAPS from cover, axe cocked to throw.
Aaaaaaaaaa...
And as she clears the barriers, she sees that Hiccup has already laid the Gronckle out.
...aaaaaaauGGGGGHHHHHHHH! No! No!
Hiccup shrugs, as unhappy with the situation as she is.
NO! NO! SON OF HALFTROLL RAT EATING MUNGE BUCKET!
A loud CLACK ring out. From the crowd above, Gothi, the village elder, steps forward, tapping her staff. Everyone lights up excitedly.
STOICK
Wait! Wait!
HICCUP
So, later.
Gobber snags Hiccup as he attempts to leave.
GOBBER
Not so fast.
HICCUP
I'm kinda late for--
ASTRID
(LIVID, pressing the axe against his neck.)
What? Late for what exactly?
Stoick holds out his hands to silence the jabbering crowd.
STOICK
Okay quiet down. The elder has decided.
Thrilled, Gobber stands behind Hiccup and Astrid. He points to Astrid as the crowd waits in silent anticipation. Gothi shakes her head 'no.' The crowd 'Oooohs.' Gobber then points to Hiccup, a questioning look on his face. The elder nods an affirmative 'yes.' The crowd erupts in cheers. Astrid turns a seething, deadly glare on Hiccup.
GOBBER
You've done it! You've done it, Hiccup! You get to kill the dragon!
STOICK
Ha, ha! That's my boy!
Hiccup is hoisted onto the recruits' shoulders and carried out to the cheering spectators...
HICCUP
(MASKING PANIC)
Heh, heh. Oh yeah! Yes! I can't wait. I am so...
And then it transitions to another scene.
Also included: Beginning the session and the rest of the kids getting taken down. Mostly just running around, trying to avoid the dragon.
How Hiccup takes down the dragon! Dragon got too close, had to do something, so he scratched the Gronckles chin to make it pass out. And considering the beeline, Gronckle probably WANTED scritches. Because Hiccup has been doing that a while.
Hiccup dragged to some more celebration and congratulations until he can slip away.
Break Down
-Oh, I suppose this would be dragon training.
-Duck and weave, keep away from the dragon!
-Other kids don't last long...
-That girl is kind of badass though.
-Why is there such a big crowd...?
-There are cheers of 'Astrid' and 'Hiccup.'
-There's the girl and okay, kind of happy she's so close for a moment there.
-Girl is also kind of terrifying.
-I was really okay with girl winning.
-Oh, hey, dad's back.
-A-and he actually looks kind of happy and proud.
-ALL the awkward, unsure feels.
-(But also kind of happy to see that look on his face...?)
-Girl was too slow, Gronckle wanted scritches.
-HAD TO DO IT, there were no two ways about it.
-Not doing ti meant...drawing...suspicion?
-How did I even know that the Gronckle would pass out like that.
-WHY DOES THIS FEEL FAMILIAR?
-Girl is not happy and WOW, that doesn't sound like good things she's saying.
-Either way, wanted to get out of there quick.
-Elder has decided? Decided what?
-But she's decided on me?!
-WHY IS THERE CHEERING?
-And that word again?!
-Wait, what.
-I get to do WHAT NOW?!
-Okay, girl is COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY terrifying with that look.
-O-oh, dad is proud of me, and there's those conflicted unsure, but secretly happy feels, sob.
-All the celebrating makes it more so, do suddenly have a lot of people congratulating me and smiling at me.
-IT'S ALMOST LIKE EVERYONE LIKES ME.
-BUT MOSTLY ON THE EDGE OF PANICKING.
-DNW, DNW, DNW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meaning
Why do people keep saying hiccup at me, it doesn't make any sense in context. But they keep saying it almost like it's a nam-oh my gods, that's my name, isn't it.
As is, this memory has a lot of INFORMATION that Rider could draw from. One, Astrid's name. When there's two kids running around, not hard to figure out who Astrid is. But more importantly is there is a definite shift from the people. They're actually cheering for him. Supporting him. And they're not as surprised as Rider thinks they should be that he was the one chosen to kill the dragon. (Which was an honor to do as mentioned in previous memory.)
FIRST OFF, DNW. He's supposed to kill a dragon. As far as he can figure, he's probably figured out that scratching thing from dragon buddy. Hopefully whatever he's been using in the ring to garner POPULARITY has all been pretty harmless. Nooooot exactly the kind of thing that could be used to kill though. More over REALLY DOES NOT WANT TO KILL A DRAGON. There's a lot of fear and dread and just a lot of DNW here. He just wants to get away really, really badly.
That's the primary feeling, anyway, but there is another feeling that Rider will not be so proud of.
Even with the DNW, there is a part of him that's kind of...happy. People like him. His father is proud of him. He's getting positive attention and respect and if it wasn't for the feeling of it all being a LIE and that he really does not want to kill a dragon, it'd be almost nice. It's a kind of thought that soooort of terrifies Rider. Whatever he's doing, it's not how or why the people expect him doing it. They clearly still want to kill dragons, so him making friends with a dragon is probably not a thing they realize. But he's kind of continuing the lie anyway!
He was getting pretty sick of it at that point. He would have LOVED to let Astrid win because then he'd have no hard choice (and could be an avoidance bugger about it.) But no, Gronckle wanted scritches. Still, the fact he went on that long for approval and how badly it ended up...well...=')
+What is even my name.
+That girl was kind of cute if absolutely terrifying.
+More dnw feels about killing things.
+Total failure and now a FAKE at home feels.
+Wanting approval because it feels nice.
+Aversion to lying. Kind of. Sort of. He's thinking about it.
Neutral-Significant: Breasthat. (Form: Heliodor colored ribbon. 1/3)
Seriously scattered all over his desk are pictures of Toothless and the tailfin. Keep in mind, NO ONE ELSE knows what a Night Fury looks like so the design would be unique.
INT. BLACKSMITH STALL - HICCUP'S CLOSET - NIGHT
HICCUP is lost in thought, his head laid of a desk full of Toothless drawings. Burdened with the weight of the world. Suddenly, STOICK appears in the doorway. Hiccup jumps and quickly covers up his desk.
HICCUP
Dad! You're back!
He skirts the bench, blocking Stoick's view of Toothless, the prosthetic fin, and other drawings.
Gobber's not here, so...
He strikes an awkwardly casual pose, trying to cover up as much as possible.
STOICK
I know. I came looking for you.
HICCUP
(CAUGHT)
You did?
STOICK
(STERN)
You've been keeping secrets.
Hiccup's legs give out. He slides, dragging the table's contents with him.
HICCUP
I, uh, I...have?
STOICK
Just how long did you think you could hide it from me?
HICCUP
(IN VAIN)
I-I-I don't know what you're...
STOICK
Nothing happens on this island without me hearing about it.
HICCUP
Oh?
STOICK
So.
(BEAT)
Let's talk about that dragon.
Blood drains from Hiccup's face.
HICCUP
Oh gods. Dad I'm so sorry. I was going to tell you. I just didn't know how to--
Stoick starts laughing. Big, booming. Hiccup stares, baffled.
You-your-you're not...upset?
STOICK
What?! I was hoping for this!
HICCUP
Uh...you were?
STOICK
And believe me, it only gets better! Just wait til you spill a Nadder's guts for the first time.
Hiccup's hopeful expression sinks.
And mount your first Gronckle head on a spear. What a feeling!
Stoick laughs and smacks Hiccup on the shoulder, sending him into the wall.
You really had me going there, son. All those years of the worst Viking Berk has ever seen! Odin, it was rough. I almost gave up on you!
Hiccup gets back up, grimacing in the irony of it all.
And all the while, you were holding out on me! Thor almighty!
Stoick grabs a stool and sits. His massive frame nearly fills the tiny room. (RELIEVED)
Ahhhhh. With you doing so well in the ring, we finally have something to talk about.
Pregnant pause. Hiccup averts his eyes nervously. Stoick adjusts, awkwardly clearing his throat. After a long, uncomfortable silence...
Oh, I... brought you something.
He presents a horned helmet.
To keep you safe. In the ring.
HICCUP
(SINCERE)
Wow. Thanks.
Hiccup accepts it, looking it over.
STOICK
Your mother would've wanted you to have it.
(HEARTFELT)
It's half of her breast plate.
Stoick taps his own helmet and smiles.
Matching set. Keeps her-keeps her close, y'know?
Hiccup eyes the mismatched helmets, grimacing.
Wear it proudly. You deserve it. You've held up your end of the deal.
Stoick beams with pride. Hiccup squirms. He forces a YAWN.
HICCUP
I should really get to bed.
STOICK HICCUP
(talking over each OTHER)
See you back at the house. We should do this again. I'm Great. Thanks for stopping by and for the... the uh, breast hat.
Yes! Good! Okay. Good talk. Glad I stopped by, I hope you like the hat.
STOICK
Well..uh..good night.
Stoick leaves the room awkwardly, leaving Hiccup looking more burdened than ever.
Break down
-STOP BROODING PAST ME AND LET ME SEE WHAT I'M BROODING ABOUT.
-Something, something, not sure what, probably involves dragons.
-Oh, hey, Dad's back.
-ewahoiejwaoierjwijewoij DAD'S BACK AND IN MY WORK ROOM AND THERE ARE DRAGON AND TAILFIN DRAWINGS EVERYWHERE
-Kind of surprised dad is looking for me...
-dhwieuhwa HE KNOWS
-ABORT ABORT ABORT
-T-TRY TO SAVE-?!
-No, wait, why is dad laughing.
-He was hoping for this?
-HE WAS HOPING I'D MAKE FRIENDS WITH A DRAGON, WHAT
-Y-yay maybe? MAYBE YA-
-No what why is this talk going to dismemberment?
-Oh....oh, I see.
-Dad is talking about something else ENTIRELY.
-My village is Berk.
-Thor and Odin, vague ideas who they actually are.
-Dad, please, please stop talking.
-OW, OW, OW, ALL MY FEELS HURT RIGHT NOW.
-I am a lying sham, dad, I AM LYING TO EVERYONE.
-About how I take down dragons...? So I did the scratch thing enough to get a rep?
-So if I'm lying, does that mean everything my dad felt...
-Oh. '-'
-Apparently we didn't have much to talk about?
-Sob, dad looks so happy to be able to talk about stuff.
-I should tell the truth.
-I SHOULD TELL THE TRUTH RIGHT NOW.
-IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO TELL THE TRUTH.
-...but how can I crush that happy look? /o\
-O-oh, dad got me a gift.
-To keep me safe in the ring.
-I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS HELMET, YOU GUYS, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW.
-Aaaaaand it just got creepy. Mom's breastplate.
-Keeps her clo-oh, so mom's (probably) dead.
-WELL THAT'S ANOTHER FUN THING TO REMEMBER.
-Still touched by the gift.
-Awk awk awk
-PRETEND I'M TIRED TO GET OUT OF THIS.
-Gods, we're both so incredibly awkward.
-I AM FULL OF ALL THE FEELS and kind of getting the transition between this and the LAST memory.
-AWK AWK AWK
-FEELS FEELS FEELS
Meaning
As Ned so kindly put it, there are two things Hiccup hasn't gotten enough of: Positive reinforcement for honesty and straightforward affection. Being himself, sharing his thoughts, communicating, it's just never worked out for him. Gobber is pretty much the ONLY overt affection he gets on a consistent basis and the one he feels he can talk to, but Gobber is Gobber.
DESPITE THIS, Hiccup does love his dad. He's got some issues and some frustrated anger, but he will always care and want Stoick's approval. And despite everything, Stoick loves Hiccup. And really part of their problem is Stoick is TOO protective and not able to understand Hiccup near enough to temper that protectiveness the right way. Hiccup is the delicate flower that must be protected! I wouldn't be surprised that the only reason he let Hiccup near a forge is because Gobber is the only one who'd agree to watch Hiccup without being fearful of what misfortune the kid could bring. But yes, they care about each other! They just don't know how to act around each other. At all.
So really, HICCUP WAS KIND OF HAPPY IN THIS MEMORY. And also incredibly sad. Because he knows everything Stoick's saying is what Stoick would be feeling if he hadn't started his lie. =D Which means that's how Stoick feels. =D So yeah, he's the worst Viking Berk has ever seen and his father was tempted to give up on him. =D
On the other hand, seeing pride on Stoick's face makes him REALLY HAPPY. He's never seen it, so seeing it is nice. Even if it's a lie. Which is why this is neutral, Hiccup is full of ALL THE FEELS from both sides of the spectrum. Also the helmet. For one, helmets are symbol of VIKING so it's Stoick saying he's one of them. Which Hiccup wants! And it's also sentimental, if creepy, in that it was his mother's. I'm thinking after Stoick left, he just kind of stared at the helmet for a while and have some more feels about his mom. Because he does treasure that helmet, wears it the next day, and he was worried when he lost it in GotNF. So IMPORTANT ITEM. If creepy.
Also just...the whole....set up. First off, SURE DOES LEAVE HIS DRAWING OF HIS TREASON BUDDY AROUND HIS WORKROOM. Which says one thing. He doesn't expect anyone to go in there. You know. The room. In the public forge. That has no door. Which, okay, maybe people are respectful about not going in there even while waiting. BUT IT ALSO MEANS PEOPLE DON'T VISIT.
Admittedly this idea occurred to me when I read a really good fanfic pointing it out. Hiccup knows his social pariah status, what it means, and he used it completely to his advantage. Stoick visiting was just THAT out of the ordinary for him.
And Hiccup sure can feel it here. He assumes his dad wants Gobber, not him. He's just plain surprised his dad would be looking for him, even without the dragon stuff making him nervous.
Then it just kind of gets worse. Not with just Stoick's words, but what Stoick doesn't notice. His table is covered in drawings, drawings of a dragon and a device to go on a tail. Stoick EVEN TURNS TOWARDS THE DESK AND LOOKS DOWN while he's grabbing the helmet. He would have a clear view of a tailfin design AND a partial view of a picture of Toothless. And...it didn't even register. Stoick didn't even acknowledge the work Hiccup had right there in front of him. Because all of that is 'strange Hiccup he doesn't understand' so he didn't even try to understand it. So while GOOD he didn't notice for Hiccup's sake...it doesn't say a whole lot of good on their relationship.
Basically HAPPY FEELINGS that he got some pride and present from dad. Sad feels ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE.
Also, gods, I really am lying a lot and it's KIND OF SCREWING ME OVER, ISN'T IT. Maybe I should learn something from tha t. =|
Positive-Significant: Forbidden friendship. (Lollipop, licks. 2/3)
Another scene where there's a ton of people putting up at least parts of it. Which is great because there's like only....two lines in the entire scene. It's very much a need to watch scene.
There's actually a little bit before the video that isn't shown in any of the clips I can find. Hiccup walks down to the space between the rocks with a shield and a fish. He throws out the fish into the open space and peeks around by the rocks for Toothless. No Toothless. Tries to go out and proceeds to wedge his shield there. When he can't get it out, he just goes to pick up the fish and looks around for Toothless. Toothless is perched on some tall rocks and it takes a few moments for Hiccup to spot him, startled, and Toothless moving down the rocks towards him and...
As a note, the video is flipped. Hiccup is drawing in the ground with left hand, just video orientation changed.
Break Down
-Oh, in the woods again with a shield and a...raw fish. Welp.
-Knows the proper way to hold a fish! By the gills. Important life lessons.
-Oh, it's this cove again. Decidedly more nervous this time around.
-Throw out the fish, use rock and shield as protection!
-No dragon.
-Aaaaaaaand my shield gets stuck. Great. I'm full of such grace. =T
-Oh shit, there's the dragon, aaaaaa.
-He's...sniffing the air. Hopefully fish was good idea.
-He...really does not like the knife and he looks kind of really wary. Am I actually being seen as a threat?
-And the dragon is telling me to throw it in the lake, yep, still pretty smart.
-Dragon has no teeth? Pretty sure he DID have teeth. =|a
-Toothless....
-Oh, retractable teeth, EEP.
-Oh gods, please don't eat me, please don't eat me, I didn't think to bring more fish, sorry!
-What is even...
-Oh. Gross.
-Ah, nothing like awkward staring, unsure what to do.
-Wait, WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO.
-No, why, why would you even...
-Can't...really say no to the big dragon though.
-Ugh, gross, WHY, this is all cold and slimy and ew, ew, ew....
-WHY DO YOU WANT ME TO SWALLOW THIS DRAGON. WHY.
-Still can't say no. '-'
-*Gags*
-...maybe just got asked if it was good. Well, uh.... *awk smile*
-O-oh, dragon smile. *-* It's kind of cute.
-Maybe all right to touch?
-NOPE, dragon doesn't want it and goes off in a huff.
-Well, it didn't ATTACK me.
-... *follows*
-*Waves*
-Dragon is kind of huffy. (Maybe I have a type of people I like...)
-MAYBE NOW I CAN TOUCH?
-Oh, whoop, no, just walk away because it goes from annoyed to mad.
-Just gonna give the dragon some space for a while and watch it.
-Does some drawings! (Because he will have a ton of pictures by that night, so he had to do them sometime.)
-Uses up his charcoal...
-Dragon is still sleeping from the tree.
-Hmmmm.....
-Kind of looks around for a bit until he finds a good drawing stick and eh, why not.
-And the dragon is watching me! Just...stay calm and draw. First time he's approached you without food, don't blow it.
-What is he...
-o_o
-Yes, yes, the dragon is in fact very intelligent because NOW IT'S DRAWING THINGS (and smacking me in the head.)
-Oh gods, this is amazing what even....
-Even if it's just a bunch of swirly lines, it's hard to draw. Seemed like he might have been trying to draw me with that glance there?
-Dragon wants me to respect his art! Definitely respecting the art, didn't want to have it's lines messed up.
-Aaaaaa, this is amazing, so cool!
-Is just in such a whimsical mood, let's dance out of here, hell yeah.
-Erk, t-there's the dragon.
-Maybe now...?
-No, dragon still not happy, but he's not...moving away either?
-Wants the dragon's trust...
-Looks away, stretches out hand.
-Please don't be a bad idea, please don't be a bad idea.
-IT WASN'T A BAD IDEA.
-A-aaaaa, there are feelings and connection stuff going oooooon.
-And then he goes off in a huff.
Meaning
This memory also just kind of faaaaaades over to this one. His brooding becomes more clear if he thinks about this memory, though not crystal since the whole 'not killing him' thing is there and why exactly he feels the guilt. It's clearer only in regards to the things he realized in this memory.
HICCUP STILL DOES VERY, VERY STUPID THINGS. Even barring the whole going to approach the dragon thing. Which he was still unsure about because SHIELD, but no, left that, sob. But at that end point, Hiccup fully expected his hand would get eaten. =| He was pretty damn relieved there was no pain and just kind of surprised the dragon would do that. So yeah, that working out was on the more unlikely side, but he took the chance anyway. GOOD DECISIONS.
Clearly before he made the tailfin, but after he's met the dragon at least once. He's not sure why he's hiding him, he's full of UNSURE feeling for most of this. But there is some feeling that...he has enough to TAKE the risk, even if he's not certain?
But there's also just this feeling of...connection that Hiccup doesn't get anywhere else. Gets it with the dragon! Awkward feels for the rest. He really, really wants to make this connection with this dragon something stronger. And as we know, Hiccup wanting to make a friend makes Hiccup do stupid things even if he knows they're stupid. But...he knows this decision will pay off.
And unlike home, he HAS been connecting with people here. And this memory just shows him that...yes, it can pay off. He knows it does! So he'll want to encourage that because it's a nice feeling and he waaaaants it. Which is good because Tsuruume left and that was the person he was most connected to in Aather, so having something kick him in how nice it feels and how it can work out that, while make him kind of saddened at first, will make him want to keep having the feeling regardless. So still trying to make friends and maybe even open UP a bit more. (GASP)
Though, yes, dragon buddy is DEFINITELY INTELLIGENT. That is not just animal copying me, that is actual thought involved in some of that for sure.
Also, he will become ill if he ever has to eat sushi. He's good with cooked fish! And he can handle holding it. But eating raw fish is just...no. Please, don't make me eat it. Alternately, if Heliodor ever needs to eat gross things, he will do it because...just...ew, slimy raw fish.
Neutral-Trivial: Good-bye at the docks. (Form: Five petal orange blossom. 1/5)
The scene starts at 5:15 and ends at 6:28. (Just ignore the transition damn there.)
Why yes, I am using a deleted scene, because I like it. But with some editing to not contradict the movie. This is leaving for the nest and it's pretty clear there's been OTHER nest trips. So this is just another one before the events of the movie. Minus Hiccup's axe, and the mentiona of training (but still mentioning keeping limbs because poor Gobber and hilarity). Everything else is general enough to be any time considering everything.
Break Down
-Down on the docks, moving out of the way of the workers. Very good at this.
-Docks really are down there.
-Lots of men and a fair number of women are getting ready to go on a trip!
-Oh, look at that one guy and Astrid having a good farewell with their parents.
-Hi dad.
-Just...can't meet his eyes or look at him or nothing. /o\
-So that probably and maybe thing happened a few times. (Because it honestly WOULD.)
-Hey, there's that guy again.
-Aaaaaaaand he's basically doing the talking for us.
-And judging by reactions, he does this. Frequently.
-Gods, am I REALLY THAT BAD at talking to my dad?
-Oh another nest trip. For the dragons nest.
-So there were multiple nest trips?
-Gobber! So that's the guy's name.
-....Gobber.
-Thoughts on name's suddenly make more sense.
-YEP, Gobber is correct, I will miss dad and hope the nest thing will be settled. And he should lay off Gobber (and everyone.) =|a
-Yeah, Gobber has to do it for dad too.
-Dad's name is Stoick!
-A-awwww, hopefully Gobber is as good at reading dad as me.
-Would be nice if he did think of me, all right. >_>
-Stay out of trouble. =|a
-Pfff, house party for who?
-"We're Vikings. It's an occupational hazard."
-This sounds familiar too.
-Dad, just let Gobber do what he does, if you're frustrated, you could have just talked to me yourself!
-Gobber is responsible for him a lot...?
-Oh, ouch, that was a low blow dad, he probably couldn't help losing his limbs.
-Probably.
-Also, haha, yeah....that...that didn't happen all the time, keeping them intact.
-And off sailing and...yeah, dad definitely told them too, so definitely more a leader type.
Meaning
So, Gobber! That guy that's been in a lot of his memories. Definitely not just responsible for dragon training. Looks like he's a close family friend. Especially since he talks. For...both of them. He's used to them. So our lack of communication is definitely a THING. But yeah, this would explain why he talks so easily to Gobber. When he...doesn't ever do that easily. HISTORY.
Stoick definitely worries for him. They can't talk, but he's vaguely threatening at Gobber for his safety and Gobber said he would be thinking of him before that. So, yes, CARES. Just bad at showing it.
Or showing him support.
Or talking to him.
Which is not normal because other kids can do it find. There was DEFINITELY envy at seeing that. So he WANTS it, just no idea how...to go about it... ._.
Pretty much just confirming everything he's been thinking. Love dad, dad cares, they just have terrible connection issues. (Probably because he's a failure.)
Also there were A LOT of nest searches. Take down the home base, perhaps?

HICCUP

Heh, heh. Oh yeah!
